My friends and family know me so well and I was lucky enough to receive so many amazing bookish gifts for Christmas this year! I wanted to take this opportunity to share them with you all! I am so thankful that I have such generous and thoughtful people in my life who take the time to consider what I would like.

Books

I posted my book wishlist the week before Christmas and obviously Santa (aka my mom) was paying attention! She is the best!

Bitter Orange by Claire Fuller

Claire Fuller wrote Swimming Lessons which was one of my favourite novels of 2017! I have been hearing amazing things about Bitter Orange and I actually plan on making this book the first one I read in 2019!

Melmoth by Sarah Perry

Sarah Perry is another author who wrote a book I love (The Essex Serpent) and I can not wait to read Melmoth! I have heard it is really dark and atmospheric, and that is perfect for me.  It sounds like the ideal book to read during the winter!

Florida by Lauren Groff

I have heard a lot of great things about Lauren Groff’s novels, but I have never actually read anything by her.  I am very much looking forward to reading this collection.  I have seen in on so many best books of the year lists!

Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak

I was so excited to finally get a copy of Bridge of Clay and then when I saw the ‘signed copy’ sticker I flipped out! I adore Markus Zusak and I am thrilled to have a signed copy! If this book is half as good as The Book Thief it is going to be amazing.

Coffee Table Books

The Disney Book

How adorable is this book? I love Disney and I really have enjoyed flipping through this book.  It is beautiful and it is interesting to read some of the history behind my favourite movies.

Bibliophile: An Illustrated Miscellany by Jane Mount

This book is beyond stunning! I am absolutely in love with it! I have had my eye on it but never mentioned it to anyone because it is pretty pricey, so I was very surprised to find this under the tree Christmas morning! The illustrations are gorgeous and I have already received so many great book recommendations!

Whiskey in a Teacup by Reese Witherspoon

I adore Reese Witherspoon and I was really happy to receive her book for Christmas! It is really beautiful and a great mix of tips, recipes, and recommendations.  I am looking forward to flipping through it and trying some of the recipes!

The Italian Baker by Melissa Forti

I have a pretty sizable collection of cookbooks that I do not talk about often on my blog. I am hoping to share more about them in the new year along with the recipes.  I am Italian so I am always on the hunt for Italian recipes! This book seems really unique with a ton of desserts I have never heard of!

Harry Potter

Figures

I can not believe I didn’t already have the Snape and McGonagall pop figures! I think my Harry Potter pop figure collection is now complete! I also love this Harry Potter ornament- he is too cute!

Hufflepuff

I am a proud Hufflepuff, but it can be difficult to find Hufflepuff merch! I was really excited when I unwrapped these! The slippers are so soft and I am planning to track my reading in the notebook.  I was also gifted a Hufflepuff shirt which I completely forgot to take a picture of but I also love!

Bookish Items

My brother’s girlfriend must read my blog because I mentioned these exact teas in my Bookish Holiday Gift Guide this year and I was beyond thrilled when I opened them! I was not expecting to actually receive them! Now I am debating whether to try them or just use them as decor on my shelves… are they too cute to actually drink? I think so!

My brother and his girlfriend also gave me this mug which perfectly sums me up! This is the epitome of my perfect day! The bookmark was in my stocking and I thought it was really pretty and unique!

I love these candles! They are really adorable and they smell great! I have another one that says “My Weekend is All Booked.”  They are perfect additions to my bookshelves!

  1. fellow proud Hufflepuff here 😉 In fact, I’m wearing the Hufflepuff socks I got for Christmas as I read this post! I hope you enjoy Bitter Orange; I read it this year and really liked it. Those mugs are amazing too!

  2. That’s a great Disney book. My sister and I have a copy of it on our shelves, although we have a different cover. I’m also intrigued by Melmoth. I haven’t yet read The Essex Serpent so I don’t know what to expect from Sarah Perry but they both sound like books I should love.

  3. You are now the second person I have seen with that Bibliophile booK! It looks soooo cute, and something I would want in the future :]
I also got Whiskey in a Teacup for Christmas! It is super cute and I know I am going to really enjoy it.

  4. Love the Hufflepuff slippers! Where’d you get them? (Here wondering it there are Ravenclaw ones.)
Btw, I just love the Hufflepuff house colors.

  5. Merry (belated) Christmas, Kristin 🎄
All these gifts look truly magical! The Disney and Bibliophile coffee table books both look amazing! I love that mug, it is the perfect mug for a cat loving, bookworm!
