September Non-Bookish Favourites

Non-BookishFavourites of 2017 (1)

I have decided to start doing monthly non-bookish favourites. I think it is fun to talk about things other than books on this blog every once in awhile, and I figured this was a great way to do it! I will talk about all of the movies, TV shows, music, food, etc I loved during the month.

Christopher Robin

This movie was so nostalgic for me and reminded me just why I loved Winnie the Pooh so much when I was younger.  It moved me in a way that I wasn’t expecting and felt my eyes well-up quite a few times.  It is heartbreaking, uplifting, and completely charming.  It makes me want to revisit all of the Winnie the Pooh movies I loved when I was a kid.

The Great Canadian Baking Show

I love The Great British Bake Off, which also started this month, but I have a soft spot for The Great Canadian Baking Show.  I am Canadian so I relate to it, and I just adore Dan Levy, who is one of the hosts.  It is great to see all of the Canadian references and goodies!

Come Dine With Me UK

Come Dine With Me is so fun! The narrator is absolutely hilarious and it is interesting to see the dynamics between strangers cooking each other dinner.  I put this one whenever I need something light.

I love flavoured coffee, specifically hazelnut.  I can not believe it has taken me this long to discover the Tim Hortons Hazelnut K-Cups! So delicious!

Silk Hazelnut Almond Creamer

I love almond milk to I was so excited to see that there was almost creamer! I really enjoyed the original version, but this hazelnut flavour is the perfect combination with my new favourite coffee.

This podcast is absolutely wild!! It is best to go in to in knowing absolutely nothing so I suggest you give it a try.  It is shocking and eye-opening to say the least.

Ryerson Publishing Certificate Program

I have gone back to school! Ryerson University offers a distance study publishing certificate program which I decided to apply for and I am now enrolled in two online classes.  It is more work than I was expecting but it has been amazing.  I love the material and I am excited for the future.

‘The Wants’- The Emily Edit Palette

Emilynoel83 was one of the first beauty guru’s that I ever watched and she remains a favourite.  She is so humble and I have learned a lot from her, and not just about makeup.  I was so excited for her when she announced that she was collaborating with Makeup Revolution on a palette and bought it instantly.  It is absolutely beautiful, as I knew it would be.  This has become the only palette that I use!

  1. What a lovely post! I watched Christopher Robin last month, and I thought it was amazing as well 🙂 There’s a Great Canadian Baking Show?! I’ve seen the British version, so I’ll have to research this!

  2. I love these posts. It’s such a good idea. I usually combine music and movies etc. in my monthly wrap up posts but this is such a good way to be able to separate them because the wrap up posts can get pretty long.

  3. I love this so much – such a good idea, I’m definitely going to craft my own over the next couple of days. Also I’m really interested in The Great Canadian Baking Show – is it reminiscent of GBBO? Also is there a way for me to watch it in the UK?

  4. Great post! I’ve heard some really good things about Crazy Rich Asians and have been wanting to see it. I love the Great British Bake Off!!! The Great Canadian Baking Show sounds like it would be really good as well!

  5. I’m glad to hear you loved Christopher Robin! It was such a moving for me, I’m totally obsessed with it! 😀
Haha I have those Tim’s K-cups at home too 😛
    Good luck with school! 🙂

      1. That’s great though! I have put myself on a makeup buying ban. I have so many palettes and always go to the same 2. LOL!

      2. I know! It’s so hard because I’m like…. there’s ONE shade that I don’t think I have. haha.. I totally probably do. They are all just so gorgeous and hard to resist!

  6. I just started watching the Canadian version of GBBO and love it already! Also, love the podcast rec, my book club is always looking for new suggestions so I’ll bring that up at our next meeting

Good luck with your program! Publishing is such a cool industry!

  7. I haven’t listened to Dr. Death yet but it’s on my queue…I’m a little bit anxious about it, actually!!! But have been hearing it’s so so good.
I want to see Christopher Robin, it looks precious and I’m sure it’ll bring some happy nostalgia. And those hazelnut coffees and creamers sound absolutely amazing, hazelnut coffee is sometimes my sole motivation for getting out of bed in them morning!

    1. It is really good but will make you second guess your doctor that is for sure. I can not believe he was able to practise as long as he did.

Christopher Robin is probably one of the most touching movies I have ever watched. So good!

Yes! I can not live without hazelnut coffee now!

  8. I really like to do this too. I’ve developed a series of specialty posts that free my writing cycle from my reading cycle. Thanks and cheers, Brian
