Of course curiosity got the best of me and I had to see what the most popular books on my TBR are!All you have to do is you go to your Goodreads TBR shelf and sort your books by the number of ratings (“num ratings” in the dropdown bar at the bottom), and then show off which 10 books are the most widely read/rated on your TBR!

I am not at all surprised to see that The Giver is the most popular book on my TBR! I have talked about this book often on this blog, and how I feel like I am the only person who has not read it, but I am not sure if I ever actually will! I have heard so many mixed things!

Can you believe that I have never read Jane Eyre?? I have been wanting to read it since I was in high school but I just have never picked it up! I know I am going to love this one but it is rare that I make time for classics. I should probably work on that!

I am not someone who ever watched The Princess Bride when I was younger so I do not have the connection to the story that I know a lot of other people have. I tried to watch the movie as an adult but could not get in to it! I would love to read the book one day so maybe I will understand why so many people love it!

I am not at all surprised to see a Cassandra Clare book in the top! I do not connect with her writing, but there is still something about The Infernal Devices that intrigues me. I have not read anything by David Sedaris but I have been meaning to! I am surprised to see that Me Talk Pretty One Day is so popular! It has been awhile since I have heard anyone talk about it. I have been really enjoying memoirs lately, but I usually read memoirs written by women. It would be interesting to read one written by a man to mix things up!

So with The Princess Bride movie, most people I know did NOT like it the first time they saw it. But for some reason the second time it magically becomes hilarious. The book, on the other hand, I think is much easier to get into right away, even if (especially if) you aren’t familiar with the movie. It’s very different from the movie, and the humor is aimed directly at bookworms in a lot of cases. I highly recommend it for a good laugh.
The Goldfinch is on my tbr too, but it’s also pretty long. Saving it for summer vacation!

oh my goshhhhhh so many good books on here?????????? I want to read Gone with the Wind too but it really is so long, how in hell’s bells can one smol human like myself commit??? also, I, too, want to fall in love with Will. I’ve always heard so many good things about him, I’m just nervous about the love triangle bc why was that needed CASSSANDRA? But I alsoo love parabatai so I might just read for that element 🙂

Gone With The Wind is a 1,000 pages but by the end of it you don’t want it to end, you’d want an extra 1,000 pages! With both GWTW and Jane Eyre, you will learn so much that can be applied in real life. The Secret History is full of very unhappy and unlikeable people, whereas The Goldfinch is very marmite, I can’t predict how someone will feel about it… there’s a lot of meandering, but the characters are very lovable and interesting so at least that will want to make you read on.

It’s funny that you have Wicked on your list because just today I was at the bookstore and I saw it and thought “I didn’t know that was a book”! I really love the play so I feel like I might enjoy the book.
I really do want to give it another chance and then hopefully see the play! I have heard they are pretty different though!
Jane Eyre is one of my favourite books. I end up coming back to it over and over again. I did find Wicked quite a slog but it is worth pushing through to the end.
Everyone seems to love Jane Eyre so I think I will too! I do hope to one day finish Wicked!

GONE WITH THE WIND IS AMAZING. It doesn’t feel like 1000 pages. It feels like ten and you will actually turn into a block when you finish it because WHERE IS THE REST OF IT? Jane Eyre is also CRAZY good. Get on it, sister! 😀

I’ve read all three sequels (Scarlett, Rhett Butler’s People, and Ruth’s Journey.) I think Mitchell is probably spinning in her grave over these atrocities, either in laughter or fury, ha ha!
I actually read The Wind Done Gone as well. That one is an interesting take. Worth a read. 🙂
