February Non Bookish Favourites

Non-BookishFavourites of 2017 (1)

I have decided to start doing monthly non-bookish favourites. I think it is fun to talk about things other than books on this blog every once in awhile, and I figured this was a great way to do it! I will talk about all of the movies, TV shows, music, food, etc I loved during the month.

Black Panther

If you have seen Black Panther then you will not be surprised to see it on my favourites list this month! It was so epic, and wonderful, and I loved it. The acting was stellar, and it really solidified my love for Micheal B. Jordan- he is incredible! It was very unique for a Marvel movie, and I appreciated that so much. I will probably be seeing it again before it leaves theatres.

Wonder

I read and loved Wonder in January so of course I had to watch the movie. I did not think it would be as good as the book but I was wrong. I think they did a brilliant job! I was just as invested in the story and I might have been even more emotional watching the movie versus reading the book! If you loved the book and have been hesitant to watch the movie, watch it! I don’t think you will regret it!

Cheapest Weddings

This is so random, but I was sick one day and found Cheapest Weddings on Netflix and I figured it would be a easy show to fall asleep too. I was wrong! I became addicted to this show and ended up binge watching it. I do not know what it is about watching people try to have a wedding on a budget that is so interesting but I was riveted.

The Olympics

I am sure a lot of us watched the Winter Olympics this month! As a Canadian, the Winter Olympics are where we shine! I adore Scott Moir and Tessa Virtue, and my obsession with their ice dancing and their relationship is boarding on unhealthy at this point. I have watched every interview they have done. They really are Canada’s Sweethearts!

Quiche

I have always loved quiche but have never made it for myself. I decided to try and make my own crust as well and it was a success! I used Paul Hollywood’s recipe for the crust and then I just threw in my own random ingredients. I believe I added eggs(obviously), green and red peppers, onion, and turkey bacon to this particular one!

Strawberry Mascarpone Pie

I wanted to make something festive for Valentine’s Day and when I saw this Strawberry Mascarpone Tart recipe on Pinterest it seemed like the perfect thing to make! I love mascarpone and I was proud with how my tart turned out. It was very light and delicious!

Hot Mama Blush

I actually found this blush for a great price at Marshall’s so of course I scooped it up! It is such a beautiful colour in person, and is a perfect blush for everyday. I have been wearing it every single day since I bought it! Also the packaging is adorable, which is no surprise since everything from The Balm has cute packaging!

Audiobooks

I have finally discovered the joy of listening to audiobooks! I know that this is supposed to be non-bookish favourites but I just had to mention it anyway! I listened to two audiobooks this month and I loved the experience. It is so nice to be able to listen to a book while cooking, cleaning, etc.

Blogging Mug

Look at this mug!!! Isn’t it perfect? This was a gift and I just love it. Pretty much everyday is a blogging day for me so you know I will be using this often. I thought it was such a thoughtful gift and I will definitely cherish it!

I can’t believe I have no music to share this month! I think it is because audiobooks have taken over! I am okay with that!

I would love to know your favourite things in February!

      1. You went to Western?! God that’s so close to me!! Was I aware that you’re Canadian? I feel like I was but I’m so confused anymore. I live not too far from Sarnia 🙂
It’s SO sad this is their last olympics! I could use me a little more of Moir 😍

  1. I love the mug! I still need to read Wonder. My oldest daughter loved it so much and we are hoping to watch the movie too. I must read it first though. Your recipes look so delish! Thanks for sharing, Kristin. I loved this. <3

  2. Ah, I FINALLY got to watch Black Panther yesterday, and I absolutely loved it! My friend and I were extremely entertained while watching it. XD And I’ve really been loving Michael B. Jordan lately; he’s such a geek. I actually didn’t watch the Olympics once, and I feel like the only person who didn’t, to be honest! I saw a lot of Twitter reactions, though. 😀

  3. I love your Non-Bookish favorite lists!! 🙂 I still haven’t seen Black Panther and it will be a while before I can watch it so I’m suffering a bit, because I have heard nothing but praise 😱 I also haven’t watched Wonder, even though the book is the first thing I read in 2018!
The Mug looks so pretty 😍😍😍 It’s perfect for us bloggers 😀

  4. Ahhhh I really need to see Black Panther! I’ve heard so many amazing things about it!! And yes, I was obsessed with the Olympics! I love Tessa and Scott. I remember watching them the last two Olympics, and I’m so glad they won again!

  5. Audiobooks are also my favourite the past few months. That strawberry mascarpone pie looks beautifully delicious! It’s been a while since I baked a pie, it’s so fun and the results are always better than store-bought ones 😀

  6. Black Panther was awesome and so was Wonder. I also read the book and was skeptical about seeing the movie but they did a really good job with the movie. And I love your Blogging Mug! It’s so cute.

  7. I like your wrap up! I’m off to see Black Panther Friday (I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t seen it yet… I’m a little worried I won’t like it because of all the hype 😕)
We’ve started comparing things at work to Scott and Tessa’s relationship haha. They are amazing and they work so well together!
OMG that mug is adorable!!! I’d ask where you got it, but alas it was a gift! I want that mug! 😀
