WWWWednesday

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading-

The Subtle Art of Not Giving of F*ck by Mark Manson– I like to end the year with a non fiction book that focuses on self improvement.  This book is not like anything that I have ever read but I am intrigued by its message! I have only read the first chapter and I am not sure what I think yet. If anyone has read this I would love to know what you thought.

Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton– Black Swan meets Pretty Little Liars? Yes please! I have not read a lot of this one yet but I am in the mood for evil ballerinas!

Recently Finished-

My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins– There were some stories that I absolutely loved, and some that I could not even finish, but I think that is the beauty of anthologies.  I also discovered a couple new authors which is awesome! I am hoping to post a full review soon!

The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock– The writing is beautiful, the characters are vivid, and the story comes together magically. It is evident that the author lives in Alaska and understands the lives of the people that live there.

Reading Next-

Uncommon Type by Tom Hanks– Well Christmas is next week and this book is the only book that I asked for! I have a good feeling that I will find it under the tree and will dive right in to it.

  1. I’ve been so tempted to read The Subtle Art. As a worrier it’s certainly something I need to learn 🙂 I’d never heard of Tiny Pretty Things but I’ve just put it on my Amazon wish list, you’ve sold it with the Black Swan meets Pretty Little Liars. I can’t believe I’ve never come across it before.

My True Love Gave to Me is a great anthology, yes some of the stories aren’t brilliant but some of them are. It did absolutely killed my TBR though as I added so many books by the authors to my list. Have you read the other one Summer Days, Summer Nights?

  2. I am getting ready to start reading Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. I was feeling like I wanted a sort of holiday themed book and I rather like reading fantasy this time of year, so a Discworld novel seemed like the perfect blend of the two.

      1. Nothing to be ashamed about. I haven’t read much Pratchett myself, but a friend was getting rid of a lot of her books and she offered her 24 Pratchett novels to me and I honestly couldn’t say no to that deal.

  3. I love how unique your book selections are 😊 I’ve heard of Mark Manson’s book, but I haven’t felt the inclination to pick it up yet. I would definitely be interested in reading about your thoughts on it, though, if you choose to write a review! And *gasp* the cover of The Smell of Other People’s Houses is gorgeous!!! I’m in a book club that focuses on reading books about unique places around the world… do you think The Smell of Other People’s Houses would be a good pick for a book about Alaska? I enjoyed reading your post! 😋
