The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O’Neill- I have just over 100 pages left to read of this book and it is living up to my expectations.  It can be very difficult to read because of the subject matter but at the same time it is very beautiful and magical. I am really looking forward to seeing how this story ends.  Peirrot and Rose are quickly become two of my favourite characters.

Mosquitoland by David Arnold– I really enjoyed this book and felt some strong John Green vibes! I actually think that I might prefer David Arnold’s writing style as it feels more natural.  I adored Mim and reading about her adventure and the lessons that she learns along the way.  I am hoping to post a full review on Sunday!

My True Love Gave to Me Anthology– I bought this book from Book Outlet during Black Friday and I am waiting for it to arrive.  I am hoping it will be here by the time that I finish The Lonely Hearts Hotel because I am really looking forward to reading it.  I am in the Christmas spirit this year so I am craving some holiday reads!

  1. yaaaay, i am so happy, that you enjoyed “mosquitoland” so much!!! <3 (go read "kids of appetite 😛 )
and have fun with "my true love gave to me" – i read it last year and i really enjoyed it 🙂

  2. I’m glad that you’re enjoying The Lonely Hearts Hotel, Kristin! That one looks really interesting, as do each of the books you listed. 😊
Also, did you see that I nominated you for the Brotherhood of the World Award? I think that you might’ve missed that – no problem – so I thought I’d tell you here. 😉

  3. Oh my! The anthology looks so fun! Makes me want a nice blanket, a little fire, and a mug of cocoa. I hope it’ll be a happy read! Sometimes, I feel like there are too many sad Christmas stories–too many like The Little Matchstick Girl….

      1. The Little Matchstick Girl is a short one–usually it’s just a picture book, I think. But it’s so sad that I find it angering. No spoilers here, but I’ve always thought that it was stupid sad.

  4. I’m currently reading My True Love Gave to Me! It’s an anthology so you know you’re bound to enjoy some stories more than others but hopefully, it all ties up nicely in the end. I’ve only read the first two stories so far and they were cute. But I’m still waiting for something to sweep me off my feet.
I hope you love it when you get to it 🙂 Would love to discuss it with you!
    Great post, Kristin <3
