Besides the Goodreads challenge, I have never participated in a reading challenge before and that is going to change in 2018! I came across the 2018 POPSUGAR Reading Challenge and it seems like a lot of fun. There are 40 prompts to follow, 50 if you wish to try the advanced option. Today, I am going to share the book that I plan to read for each prompt. I am sure these are going to change but as of right now these are the books that I hope to read! I love that this challenge is giving me an excuse to read books that have been on my TBR for a long time, as well as reread a few classics! If you plan on participating in this challenge I would love to see what books you plan on reading. Do you participate in a different challenge?
I don’t like planning out my reading that much, but the Popsugar challenge sounds fun and I think I’m going to be joining you. You have some amazing books ahead of you.
I normally don’t like planning my reading either but this looked like fun and a lot of the books I have been hoping to read fit! Can’t wait to see your picks for the challenge!
This sounds like a really cool challenge and it gives you a lot of room to choose when you want to read it (I am a mood reader, so I usually don’t like to set a certain TBR for my month). I think I’ll join in. 😀 I already have a lot of books that fit the categories… 😀
That is exactly why I decided to do it! It is a very flexible challenge!!
Wow! High five, Kristin ✋ I came across this challenge this morning and decided to join it! And I see you’ve already planned for 2018 😆 Good job! Happy reading!
It makes me so happy that so many fellow bloggers are participating in this challenge as well! Thank you!
I’ve been so focused on my Goodreads challenge that I forgot all about the popsugar challenge 🙈 your books for next year look great!
Thank you! I am going to try my best to stick to it!
What a fun challenge! You’ve got a lot of great books in there. One of my favorites is The Invention of Wings.
Happy Reading!
That book has been on my list for ages. So happy to finally have an excuse to pick it up!
I am in theory still trying to do the 2017 challenge but not doing well as I stopped looking at the prompts and now only have about 6 weeks and no books that fit 😂
I will no doubt attempt 2018 but don’t hold out much hope of sticking to it and I’m afraid I haven’t found the Goodreads group much help. It’s kinda cliquey.
I haven’t looked much in to the goodreads group but it seems like quite a few of us are doing it this year! Should find a way to talk about it together!
The group is quite good for getting ideas for the prompts but I didn’t find there was much chat. I’d post comments to the various threads or respond to others but it felt like I was talking to myself as I got no response and I like a chat.
I definitely need some way to stay motivated on this one as I always start well then wander off.
This challenge sounds lovely! Already joined after seeing it here. I’m not going to plan it out too much though as historically, that has been terrible for me. I think I’ll just take it easy and hope I get through all 50 books. The books on your list sound lovely!
So happy you are going to join! I am terrible at sticking to a list too but we will see!
wow, there are so many great books on that list! i hope you will love them all! good luck on this challenge! 🙂
Thank you!
Looks like I’m joining too. Sounds interesting and will keep me on my toes.
Yay! So happy so many people are joining. Means I am more likely to stick to it!
Sounds like a great way to get to some of my way-back TBR! Thanks for sharing, I love a different reading challenge 🙂
Me too! I am really hoping to stick to this one!
Good luck with this! We both have the same favourite colour! 😀 I read the Color Purple in high school but I don’t think I really understood it. I’m sure if I were to read it again today I’d understand it a lot more; I think I as too young at the time.
My challenge for next year is to make it through half my TBR… I say it now but we’ll see, if anything I hope to make a dent in it! 🙂
Thank you! I also think I read The Color Purple too young and dirty fully get the importance of it. Can’t wait to reread it!
This challenge should help me get through a good chunk of my tbr!
I’ll be looking out for your thoughts on the Color Purple!
I hope you can feel accomplished after this challenge! 🙂
Good luck with the challenge! 🙂 I’ve never looked into any Goodreads challenges, but I really should. It sounds like a great way to get a lot of reading done without feeling forced, since it’s by choice!
Thank you! I am hoping that participating in this challenge stops me from falling in to so many reading slumps!
Great selections, and good luck with the reading challenge. The only thing I’ll point out is that Dead Poets Society is a novel based on the film, not a film based on a novel. It’s still worth a read though.
Thank you! I did not know that until someone else mentioned it! I still want to read it though!
I think it still does add a few little expansions to the screenplay, and I greatly enjoyed reading it (of course the movie is one of my favorites).
Wow! I loved how diverse your list was. So many different time periods, genres, and writing styles. I hope you read them all!
Me too! I didn’t notice that’s until you pointed it out. Very excited to read all of these!!
Oh I really hope you like Six of Crows, To Kill a Mockingbird and Daughter of Smoke and Bone- excellent selection!!
Thank you! I am really excited about Six of Crows!
Oh I didn’t know that Dead Poets Society was a book! I loved that movie 🙂
Apparently the book is based on the movie! Who knew!
Oh interesting!
Awesome post!
Thank you!
Doing the PRC this year! The prompts for 2018 don’t speak to me as much though..
There are some challenges on there that I’d rather hide from, haha. So I decided to make my own list of challenges – adding some of the PRC but also some other fun prompts I found. 😀
Good luck!
That sounds like a great idea! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Your list looks lovely! This sounds like so much fun. I think I’ll join in too. 🙂
Yay! Awesome! I love to see fellow bloggers joining. Makes me more motivated to stick to it!
Lots of good books on here! Ive always wanted to do this challenge but never have. Maybe I will next year 😀
It seems like a fun challenge and I have noticed that a lot of books could work for multiple prompts which is helpful!
Some really interesting books on this list! Wow thank you🙂 What a lovely challenge, definitely joining.
Awesome! Can’t wait to see what books you end up reading!
