WWW Wednesday (1)

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words! All you have to do is answers the following three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading-

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie– I mean I have to read this before I watch the movie right? I am finally jumping about the Agatha Christie train (see what I did there??) and I am so excited. I can already see why she is so well loved and can not wait to see where the story goes!

Recently Finished-

The Hanging Girl by Eileen Cook– I was actually sent this book for review by Raincoast Books and it was a signed copy, which is even more exciting now that I have read the book and loved it! There are so many twists and turns in this story and my jaw dropped many times. The one thing I didn’t like was that I think there is a major spoiler in the synopsis so I would go in to this book completely blind- it is more fun that way!

Turtles All the Way Down by John Green– At first I was not sure if I would like this book but now dare I say this is my favourite John Green book? It took me awhile to connect with this story but once I did I was hooked! It was so interesting and eye opening to read from the perspective of Aza who has OCD.  I would say that this story is definitely more character driven than plot driven.  There were some really beautiful moments!

Reading Next-

The Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman– This is a prequel to Practical Magic and I am so excited about it! I love the movie and I am so intrigued to dive deeper in to the back story. I have enjoyed every book that I have read by Hoffman, and I am sure this will be no exception.

  1. I’m currently reading the Rules of Magic and so far I’m really into it! I’m waiting for my copy of Murder on the Orient Express in the mail and in super excited to read it! You’ve got some great reads on your list this week!

  2. Turtles All The Way Down was my first ever John Green-novel and I’m definitely going to buy more of his books! I never expected to be drawn so completely in a novel where I barely have anything in common with the MC but Green succeeded at doing just that.
You seriously have to be a kick-ass author to pull that of, in my opinion!

  3. I’m still swithering over whether i should get Turtles or not. The only book I’ve read by Green was Looking for Alaska and I swore after that I was never reading another.

I’ve recently read Rules of Magic and while it’s slow in the beginning it is really good. I hope you enjoy.

  4. Ohhh, I am so excited about the new Murder on the Orient Express film!! I should re-read it, but I honestly won’t have time. I’m on the fence about John Green’s new book, although turtles! I am one of the those in the minority who loves Looking for Alaska best. A prequel to Practical Magic??? Whaaaaat? Yes! I also ADORED the house in the movie, and I was so crushed when I found out they built it (incomplete) only for the movie and then bulldozed it. :*( It’s the perfect time of the year to watch it, though. Happy reading!

    1. The trailer for the movie looks so good!! I am reading the book as we speak and it is really great!

There are not a lot of turtles in their book unfortunately, but he explains the title beautifully!

I didn’t know that about the house! How sad!

  5. I’m planning to read Murder on the Orient Express before seeing the movie as well. I’m pretty sure I read the book years ago but I think my memories of the story may be more from the previous film version starring Albert Finney. So I want to read the book to see what, if any, changes they make when adapting it for the screen. That always intrigues me….

  6. Yeah, I’ve been thinking of re-reading Murder on the Orient Express ahead of the movie as well. I fear I’m going into that movie already biased against it, however. Much as I love Kenneth Branagh, I can only ever imagine David Suchet (from the television series) as Hercule Poirot. After watching the movie, I’d suggest you try to take a look at one of Suchet’s episodes. He really is the absolute picture-perfect interpretation of Christie’s description of Hercule Poirot.

    Thanks for posting!

  7. The Rules of Magic just recently made it on to my radar & I’ve added it to my shopping cart lol, NEED like water. like air! haha. I recently caught a Kindle deal for Murder on the Orient Express so it too will be my 1st Agatha Christie & def watching the movie *insert excited emoji* lol. The Hanging Girl is most def on my TBR but I’m still going back & forth on Turtles lol. Happy reading! <3

      1. Oh goodness well that’s good to hear about Orient Express! 🙌🏼 I’ll keep an eye out for your final thoughts, will you be reviewing the movie? 🙂

  8. I read and enjoyed The Rules of Magic, but I liked the story better once the siblings were grown.

I’ve been eyeing Turtles All the Way Down, and I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for sharing, and here’s MY WWW POST

  9. I just rewatched Practical Magic a few days ago. Totally need to pick up the prequel book at some point.

My most recent finished book was A Plague of Giants by Kevin Hearne, I’m currently reading The Magician’s Keeper by Nicola E. Sheridan, and my next read is…maybe How to Hang a Witch by Adriana Mather.

  10. Ooh, I’d to like to read Murder on the Orient Express before watching the film too! The trailer looks so cool! I am glad you are enjoying it!
