Favourite Posts of the Month

FavouriteBlog Posts

There are so many fantastic bloggers and I thought it would be fun to feature some of my favourite blog posts every month! Please feel free to share your favourite blog posts this month in the comments! I would love to read them!

The Orangutan Librarian asks the question “How Realistic Should Books Be?” I thought this was a very interesting discussion. I really enjoyed reading her perspective and there were a lot of excellent comments as well!

Michelle @ The Writing Hufflepuff (who created one of my all time favourite tags- The Book Aesthetic Tag) talked about Things She Would Change in Books! I really liked her changes- especially her idea for the Harry Potter epilogue!

Violet @ The Whimsical Words of an Agreeable Bookworm shares her Top Five Reasons Fall is the Best Season! I just loved reading this post and it got me so excited for fall! I related to everything she said! She also used a Clueless gif so that automatically wins me over!

Kate @ Reading Through Infinity asked her followers on twitter about Books That Changed Their Lives and shared their answers! I thought that this was a brilliant idea and I really enjoyed reading everyone’s responses.  She also posted a part two this month!

Rose @ Stuck in Fiction shares her Favourite Book Spines! I feel like spines are not appreciated enough, especially considering that is what we see when the book in on the shelf! It really made me realize how pretty a series looks together! I am thinking of sharing some of my own favourite spines in the future.

Beth @ Reading Every Night started a new series called Reading Around the World where she showcases books that are all set in the same city.  For her first post she talked about books set in Rome! I adore Italy and I added a bunch of these books to my TBR! I can’t wait to read more from this series!

  1. I really like the first one. It made lots of sense. I really don’t need people to use the toilet in books because that’s a bit irrelevant. Like you can mention it sometimes but don’t have a paragraph every chapter about how you peed. There’s no need. The 2nd one spoiled a book for me (crooked kingdom) but it was still a great post. (the spoiler is mild and not exactly a spoiler but STILL I hate spoiler 🙁 )

    1. I don’t need them to go to the bathroom every chapter, but a passing sentence referencing it is nice. There have been so many books I’ve read where I feel like the character never goes to the bathroom or bathes, and I’d like just a bit more realism. Also, in contemporary novels, I don’t need a fleshed out scene for meals or grocery shopping or putting gas in the vehicle, but a sentence or two that mention them help to ground the story in reality.

  2. Oh thanks so much for featuring my post in your post. I’m really glad you enjoyed it enough to feature it! 🙂
I’ll definitely have to check out some of these others as well. After what you said about it I’m really intrigued by Michelle’s Things She’d Change in Books post, and by Rose’s Favourite Book Spines. I have a few favourite ones but it’s something I never put much thought into before. 🙂
Again thanks for featuring my post. 🙂 <3
