Currently Reading-
East of Eden by John Steinbeck– Steinbeck is my favourite author. He wrote my favourite book of all time and I have enjoyed every book I have read of his. It is absolutely ridiculous that I have yet to read East of Eden- arguably his most beloved book! I only just started it but it so beautifully written! I know I am going to love it!
Just Finished-
Uprooted by Naomi Novik– I have such mixed feeling about this book! When I wrote my WWW Wednesday last week I was just starting to really enjoy it but then I started to struggle with it again. I do not know what it was but I had a hard time connecting with the characters and the story.
Dumplin’ by Julie Murphy– This was exactly what I need after finishing Uprooted! It was light, funny, and heartfelt! The romance was not my favourite but I enjoyed every other aspect of the story. I can’t wait for the movie to be released!
Reading Next-
Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty– I am not 100% sure this is what I will read next because who knows what kind of mood I will be in when I finished East of Eden!

both “east of eden” and “truly, madly, guilty” are on my tbr. i really need to prioritize my books, but sometimes being a mood reader is just hard 😀

I loved Truly Madly Guilty…and it’s been years since I read East of Eden…but I still remember loving it.

I keep saying I really must make more time to read some classics but those new releases are just too tempting.
I’ve been a bit on the fence about whether to read Dumplin as the reviews seem decidedly mixed.
I know. I truly have to make the effort to read classic or it will just never happen!
I think if you like YA contemporary you’ll like Dumplin’. It’s cute!

Dumplin’s been sitting in my Kindle for a while and I have to get to it. I hope to read it before its film’s debut.
I decided to read it when I heard it was becoming a movie. I always try to read the books first!

Thanks! It was one of the many ARCs I picked up at BookExpo. But with all the press lately around the movie for Ready Player One, I really want a book with similar vibes, and I’d like to have a Warcross review up prior to release day, so timing wise it really works out. 🙂
I read Dumplin’ a while back and really liked it!
I’ve never read Lianna Moritarty but I really want to. What would you recommend I start with?
Big Little Lies probably! I haven’t read it because I watched the tv show first but everyone says it is her best! I also really enjoyed The Husband’s Secret!
I had to read Cannery Row for one of my American Literature courses, and I actually loved it. It’s the only Steinbeck novel I’ve read. It’s a bummer when you can’t connect to the characters. Makes it hard to enjoy. I hope you have better luck with Steinbeck and your next pick.
