Fierce Fangirl Friday- My Cat

fiercefangirlfridayI am so excited to be participating in Fierce Fangirl Friday created by Jackie @ Too Much of a Booknerd!

Whenever you have something, anything to fangirl about – whether it be a book, TV show, music, celebrities, your pet, the universe, finding your soulmate or just a recent meal that you’ve had – Fierce Fangirl Friday is your opportunity to do so! It doesn’t matter if it’s a recent obsession of yours or something you’ve been loving for a while!

IMG_20170514_1812072It is no secret that I am absolutely obsessed with my cat, Maggie, and I am happy to have this excuse to gush about her!

IMG_20170601_0709460Maggie was my grandparents cat, but sadly my Nonna passed away and my Nonno moved in to a retirement home so I offered to take care of her.  It was truly one of the best decisions that I have ever made.  I am just so attached to this cat! There must be something special about her because I am not alone in this… When my Nonna passed away she was actually burried with a picture of Maggie! I remember she was sick at the hospital and the only picture that she had in her room was of this cat.

She can be moody but to me that is part of her charm!

She is also a big book lover! She doesn’t actually read them obviously, but she loves to use them as pillows.

In the two years that I have lived with her Maggie has become my shadow. I can’t even go to the bathroom without her following me! She sleeps by my head every single night. She also makes writing blog posts quite difficult! img_20170627_1609470.jpg

I am on a vacation at my families beach house and of course I had to bring her along.  I have never seen her so happy!

There is so much more I could say about her but I don’t want to sound too crazy! I would love to know if any of you have pets!

  1. Your cat is beautiful!

I grew up with cats, like tons of them. I remember we had 14 at one point and they were seriously one big family. One of our cats decided to get pregnant every time she was done “raising” her latest batch of kittens which made it impossible to get her sterilized.. And so all cats were her kids, haha.
Then my dad decided to get a dog and suddenly half our cats disappeared. Still haven’t forgiven him for that, even though I love that dog still. Two years after that, another dog was added and now there’s only one cat left, with the two dogs. All others have passed away by now, or got run over [the hell of living near a way too busy street].

Since I moved in with my boyfriend, we only have two fish. I do miss my dogs and cat though. It’s the first thing I do when I visit my mom. No “Hello” or “I’m here”, nope. Straight to the beasties!

Love these pictures of your cat! 😀
[Especially the one on your laptop looks familiar. They used to do that all the time with my laptop as well, haha.]

    1. Thank you!!

I would seriously love to have 14 cats! It is sweet that they were all a family! It makes me sad to hear about the dog though. 😔

I hope one day you get a cat again! They are so calming and a joy to be around when they aren’t lying all over your computer making it impossible to do work! 😀

      1. It was wonderful! Especially when they were still little and followed me around everywhere, haha. I always left a trail of kittens.
Not to mention that the mother always gave birth on my bed, which I now think is so awesome – at the time, not so much.. Coming home to a bloody bed was everything but funny. :’)

Hope so too! Even though my boyfriend is more of a dog-person, but we’ll see. First we’re going to wait until we actually have a house with a garden. I don’t like putting animals in a small apartment with no way to go outside. I’d go crazy myself, let alone a cat who’s meant to be outside as well. :p

  2. Aw!!!!! I have a kitty. They are so completely adorable and contrary. <3

My kitty sits on my homework & chases my pen when I'm writing. She bites holes through my essays. She jumps onto my desk & walks across the keyboard when I'm writing. She climbs my pants legs & claws through to the flesh. She knocks things off my furniture to make room for herself. She likes to come in then out then in then out every two seconds until the end of time. She sits on the printer when it starts to hum so everything comes out crinkled & marked with her teeth. She scowls when I pet her unless she's in the mood. She chases my feet & bites my hands when I talk too much. She appreciates a good window view but could do without fussing. She doesn't like blankets or pillows & feels that life would be better for her if I would anticipate all her needs & then get out of the way.

But she ALWAYS purrs when I pick her up, greets me when I come home, & says goodnight preemptively. She's rather business-like about common everyday decencies, but she does go through them. She eats whatever offering I drop in her food bowl. She almost never thanks me, & then she bites me for kissing her.

    🙂

  3. cats cats cats!!! <3 <3 <3
maggie is beautiful! she sounds very sweet and i am happy, that she makes you so happy! 🙂
i also have two cats and i couldn't imagine my life without them. they are everything! <3

  4. Oh, your kitty is adorable! My family has 3 cats, I love them because they’re definitely people cats. And they love being held and cuddled. 🙂

  5. Maggie is so precious!! I adore cats 😻 We have only Chloe now and she will be 8 in October. But today would actually have been Pandora, my most favorite, loveable kitty in the world’s 21st b-day, but she passed away 8 yrs ago. I’ve never really gotten over that. She was just the sweetest thing in the world….slept on my pillow every night, followed me around the house, laid beside me on the couch, and was the most gentle cuddle bug. Her birthday is always hard…our other kitty Tigger died at age 19 three years ago, which was just crazy! We never expected her to live to be that age but we’re so glad she did. She was more my oldest cats than anything, but she was super sweet. Chloe is crazy..literally! She’s your typical cat and only likes to be bothered with at her convenience, which is usually inconvenient for anyone else, lol. But she’s sweet when she wants to be and soooo attached to my daughter and vice versa! I can’t imagine not having cats although I do adore my 2 dogs! Thanks for sharing Maggie ❤❤❤

      1. They really do! And they are definitely like family. A lot of people don’t understand that but it’s like losing a family member you saw every day. I’ve had cats my entire life and she was different…just so sweet and loving. She almost acted human at times. Wonderful cat! I don’t think I’ll ever find a cat like her again.
