- Writing– Liane Moriarty is a stellar writer. I really appreciate the way she writes dialogue as well as the inner thoughts of her characters.
- Unpredictable– I really thought I had all the twists figured out but I always ended up being completely wrong. What I really enjoyed was the fact that although the twists were unpredictable, they also made a lot of sense and were not completely out of left field.
- Believable characters– All the characters are flawed, and very realistic. I did not agree with a lot of the choices that they made but I understood why they made them.
- Epilogue- This epilogue might go down as one of my favourites of all time. It was such a unique and genius approach. It truly blew me away.
- The Berlin Wall discussions– There were a lot of references and passages about the Berlin Wall. I understand what the author was trying to do but I don’t think it added anything to the story.

The Husband’s Secret won’t be for everybody, but if the Goodreads summary interests you at all then take my advice and read this book! I devoured this book so quickly, and I can not wait to get my hands on more of Liane Moriarty’s books. I have not read Big Little Lies by the same author, but I did watch the TV show and loved it! If you have read any of her other novels please let me know which one I should read next.
Thanks for this review. I saw this book on display and was genuinely curious, but I was weary to pick it up. I am still working through The Hypnotist’s Love Story as an audiobook, and I think that her writing is spectacular as well, but there are issues I have with her book including some discussions that I am hoping take a turn later.
I have heard mixed things about The Hypnotists Love Story as well! You really can’t go wrong with this one though! 😀

One of my favorite novels!! I’ve read every one of her books, and they are all great…some more than others. Big Little Lies is the best of them all 🙂 What Alice Forget is my other favorite, it is so good! Then, Three Wishes and The Last Anniversary are my next favorites. The Hypnotist Love Story is really good too, but not as good as those in my opinion.
Her latest book from last year, Truly, Madly, Guilty was good but hard for me to get into since it just was not up to par with her previous novels. Or maybe it is because I was listening to the audiobook…still it doesn’t have as high a ratings on Goodreads as her others, so I guess I’m not the only one, lol. I loved, loved Big Little Lies on HBO! It was so good. They changed just a few things from the book, so you should be good when you read the book 🙂 Nothing that really changed the storyline, but still minor changes.
