1. Find a book on your shelves with a blue cover. What made you pick up the  book in the first place?

Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach- Is this too personal? Oh well I am just going to put it out there- my therapist told me to read this book! If you are ever in need of some inspiration I truly think this book is for you. I am going to quote the synopsis because I think it sums up this book perfectly and might just inspire you to pick it up!

This is a story for people who follow their hearts and make their own rules…people who get special pleasure out of doing something well, even if only for themselves…people who know there’s more to this living than meets the eye: they’ll be right there with Jonathan, flying higher and faster than ever they dreamed.

2. Think of a book you didn’t expect to enjoy but did. Why did you read it in the first place?15749186

I am going to choose a recent read for this one- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han.  I had never planned to read this book but I saw it for a good price at Costco and I have read so many great reviews for it that I figured I would give it a shot. OH MY GOD! This book was adorable!! I immediately went out and bought the other two books in the series.  Look out for a series review soon!

3. Stand in front of your bookshelf with your eyes closed and pick up a book at random. How did you discover this book?25781157

The Nest by Cynthia D’Arpix Sweeney– When this book first came out it was absolutely everywhere! It was hard to miss! The cover is absolutely beautiful so that is why I bought it! I read it and thought it was just okay.

4. Pick a book that someone personally recommended to you. What did you think of it?4667024

My friend/roommate recommended The Help by Kathryn Stockett and I am so glad that she did.  Loved it! I adore the movie adaptation as well! I always forget to mention that when questions about book to movie adaptations come up!

5. Pick a book you discovered through book blogs. Did it live up to the hype?32620332

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid–  I had seen a few reviews for this book when it first released and I was intrigued! The reviews were all amazing! This book more than lived up to the hype! It is my favourite book of the year so far!

6. Find a book on your shelves with a one word title. What drew you to this book?

Shine by Lauren Myracle– I initially picked this book up because of the cover, but when I read the synopsis I knew I had to read it. I do not see many people talk about this book but it is such a tragic coming of age story that I still think about from time to time.

7. What book did you discover through a film/TV adaptation?20980979

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks- I had not read anything by Nicholas Sparks until after I saw The Notebook. I love some of his books, but The Notebook was not my favourite.  I actually liked the movie better!

8. Think of your all-time favourite books. When did you read these and why did you pick them up in the first place?

I am one of those weird people who actually has one favourite book. I have mentioned it so many times before but it is Cannery Row by John Steinbeck! I actually have reviewed this book! I picked it up after I read Of Mice and Men.  I wanted to read more classics and I discovered that I connected with Steinbeck’s writing.  I found Cannery Row and had not heard a lot about it but it was short so I figured why not give it chance.  Little did I know that I would end up reading my all time favourite novel!

      1. I was writing my book around the time this came out. And my story has several siblings and a death, too. I kept thinking “they need to do better.” Lol

  2. Fun tag! I thought To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was pretty cute. I wasn’t a huge fan of the second book, though, and have yet to read the next. I hope you enjoy them, though!

  3. Thanks for the tag, this looks really fun 😁💗 my mom just read Jonathan Livingston Seagull and recommended it to me! I’ll have to give it a read!

  4. It’s funny I saw To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before at Costco the other day & I almost bought it… almost 😛 I agree I loved the movie the Notebook, the book was alright for me, they just did so much with the movie 😀

  5. Great post, glad you enjoyed it! I also thought it was great because of it’s uniqueness! I’ve not read a lot of these, but I did read The Notebook a while back, I thought it was pretty good, but I can imagine those kind of books get quite formulaic once you’ve read a couple! I still want to watch the film though! Great post 😉

  6. Oh lovely answers! I’m so glad you were surprised by To all The Boys, in a great way – this book is adorable, right? 🙂 I hope you’re enjoying / enjoyed, if you’re done with them already – the rest of the series! 🙂

  7. By the way, have you read East of Eden? I actually loved that book. I was reading it for my Honors English class and I borrowed it. Needless to say, I borrowed it and bought a copy of my own. Couldn’t resist, found it in a used bookstore! 🤣
