I have been thinking about auto-buy authors lately and I have come to realize that I do not have very many! I don’t even have any auto-buy YA authors! I think that is because I am more picky when it comes to YA and I do more research before I buy a book. When it comes to YA the story and subject matter is more important to me than the author! Still, it is very rare that I will read every book that an author has written. In fact I can only think of three authors where this is the case! Auto-buy authors is the monthly recommendations Goodreads group’s topic for July which worked out perfectly since I already had this post saved as a draft!
Mitch Albom
I devour his books! I love each and every one of his novels. They are always inspirational, thought-provoking and insightful. If I had to recommend only one it would be The Five People You Meet In Heaven.
Lisa Genova
Lisa Genova is a fantastic author. I am always interested in the topics that she addresses in her novels. Each of her novels centers around different diseases and disorders- the majority of them being neurological. I always feel like I come out of reading her novels with a lot more knowledge and compassionate.
Khaled Hosseini
When I read a Khaled Hosseini novel I know that I am going to need a box of tissues ready. He is such a vivid writer and I always feel so connected to his characters.

Angie Thomas
The Hate U Give is Angie Thomas’ debut novel- and if her next book is even half as good as this one was then she will instantly be added to my auto-buy list! I was blown away by her debut and I can not wait to see what she comes out with next.
Pierce Brown
I have only read Red Rising but I was blown away by it! I have been told that the series only gets better! If that is the case I am sure I will be suffering along with many others waiting for his new series, Iron Gold, to be released in 2018!
Sylvain Neuvel
Yes I am talking about the Themis Files once again! I can not wait to see how this series plays out! I am truly intrigued to see what else Sylvain Neuvel comes up with! I have no doubt in my mind that he will become an auto-buy author for me.
