To Not to Read Tag

To Not To Read TagI was tagged by the amazing Angelica @ The Book Cover girls! I was so honoured to be tagged! I do not DNF books very often so I might struggle with this tag but I am excited to see how it all turns out!

Easy right?

Oh and only use books that you DNF as your answer hence the “to not to read” part

WHAT BOOK WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO FINISH?

23848559

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson– I was really enjoying this book but then life happened and I put it down and just never picked it up again!

A DYSTOPIAN BOOK THAT YOU PUT DOWN.

7631105

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner– I read the Maze Runner and thought it was just okay, but was curious about the rest of the series.  I could not get in to the Scorch Trials and quickly realized that the series was just not for me.

A BOOK THAT YOU JUST DIDN’T WANT TO FINISH AT ALL.

The Almost Moon by Alice Sebold– Just no. This is my least favourite book. It has a 2.67 rating on goodreads so I think that says it all!

A SEQUEL.

7631105

A BOOK YOU’LL NEVER AGAIN PICK UP.

17346834

Actors Anonymous by James Franco– I love you James, but WTF!

A BOOK WITH TOO MUCH HYPE.

968

The Davinci Code by Dan Brown– I have tried many of Dan Brown’s books and I just don’t think he is for me.

A CONTEMPORARY.

6574102

Heist Society by Ally Carter– I know a lot of people liked this series but I was bored!

A BOOK YOU WERE UNSURE OF.

1656001

The Host by Stephenie Meyer– A lot of people love The Host, and I think maybe I just wasn’t in the mood for it, or I went in thinking it would be like Twilight.  I can be convinced to give this book another shot!

  1. This funny, you almost feel bad for the books but I was nodding at a bunch of your choices…I waant to love maze runner but I never end up buying it!

  2. I listened to The Maze Runner on audio a few years back, liked it ok, but not enough to listen to the rest of the series. I did like the movie, I’ll watch all of them once they finish the final movie.

I love Dan Brown books! He has a new one coming out and I am excited about it. The movies…. they are far from the best out there.

I have never read The Host, but need to.

    1. I enjoyed the Maze Runner movie as well!

I really want to love Dan Brown. It has been many years since I tried to read on his books. My reading tastes have changed since then so maybe I will enjoy them now. I really should try again!

  3. Furiously happy made me laugh so hard I literally cried! And The Host takes a good 120 pages to get going. Those pages were torture! But the rest of the book was spectacular! I hope you give it a second chance 🙂

  4. OMG the rest of the Maze Runner series is SUCH A LET DOWN. I hate the direction the story goes in, especially considering that the first book was really intriguing and suspenseful. I hate when there’s so much wasted potential for a series!

  5. I agree on The Scorch Trials – and it gets even worse! I still want to read Heist Society as I love heist stories but I’m keeping my expectations a bit on the lower side…
    Great post, Kristin 🙂

  6. I’ve always been curious about The Host but never felt like reading it. I probably won’t be seeing as it doesn’t look like it will ever have a sequel!

  7. I found The Almost Moon depressing. I finished it, but it went to the charity shop. The Lovely Bones was touching. Although Susie’s death was brutal, her afterlife was gentle, and it focused on how different members of the family resumed life. It managed to be uplifting.

  8. Hey, great post! I read Furiously Happy earlier this year and I had a great time reading it. It’s really weird and sometimes gets off topic but it made me laugh a lot. I hope you like it when if you get through with it. And I’ve been meaning to read The Host but am too afraid I won’t like it. People either love it or hate it and I’ve been to afraid to see which side of that spectrum I’ll fall under. Especially since that sequel never came!

    1. The cover for Furiously Happy is weird in a good way so I suspect the book is the same! So happy to hear you liked it. Can’t wait to get back to it!

The Host is a large book so I’d hate to dedicated all that time to finishing it if I’m one of those people who don’t like it! We will see! Hopefully we both end up reading it and loving it!

      1. Yeah Furiously Happy is strange book but really sweet I think. As for the Host you’re right I would be more inclined to read it if it were shorter. There would be less risk that way. Looks like we’re gonna have to take a leap of faith! And hopefully you’re right!
